WEEK #12

K4 & K5 started class reviewing the 3 jobs our muscles do for our body everyday!! They move our body, protect our bones, and help us move, carry, and lift things!!! We then used our muscles for the song Animal Action. We then went over the cues of catching and had the opportunity to practice this skill with a bean bag. We practiced catching in many different ways. We ended class playing a catching game called Snow Ball.

1st grade started class with a heart healthy song called The Jumping Jack Song. We then learned some facts about our heart and why our heart is so important. We then learned a game called the Turkey Dance!! It is a great activity to teach the concept of mirroring! To end class, we played an activity to celebrate Thanksgiving called Turkey Trot.

2nd thru 5th grade did a fitness game called Wipeout. It's played to the actual song Wipeout by the Safari's. Here the students got the chance to work on any one of the five levels of fitness. We then played a Fairview classic activity named Smash The Turkey! It is a great way to teach offensive and defensive concepts!!
6th grade even got the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving!! You're never too old to play games!!! See 2nd thru 5th grade!!
