WEEK #5

K4 thru 2nd grade's ASAP for the week was a movement song called Singing In The Rain. We then played Monster one more time since the kids loved it so much. To end class, we played Stop, Drop, and Roll to celebrate Fire Safety Week. Here we reviewed the basic fire safety protocols within the activity.

3rd thru 5th grade's ASAP was a listening and reaction action activity called Quick Hands. We then played a fitness game called Musical Fitness to get ready for our Fitnessgram assessments. To end class, we also reviewed the basic fire safety protocols with a game called Fire Fighter.

6th thru 8th grade's ASAP was a muscular strength and endurance activity called Sumo. We reviewed the basic cues for throwing and catching and participated in some games called Pattern Passing and Multiply.

WEEK #4

K4 thru 1st grade's ASAP was the movement song called Animal Action. We then used yarn balls for some manipulating fun. To end class, we played the awesome game of Monster. One of Fairview's all time classic activities!!

2nd grades ASAP was the activity called Line Graph Workout. We then reviewed the foot skills kicking and passing with some super quick foot drills. We finished class with a game called Pin Guard where we put our foot skills into action.

3rd thru 5th grade's ASAP was called Locomotor Fun. We then went over the cues for passing and kicking with our feet and played Expansion Ball. We used those skills to play two games called Pirates and King/Queen of the Hill.

6th thru 8th grade's ASAP was a muscular strength activity named Finger Battle. We went over the basic cues for throwing and catching with some practice drills. We ended class playing a game called Toss and Catch Invasion.

WEEK #3

K4 thru 1st grade's ASAP for this week was called I see... you see... We then discussed what Self Space is and practiced the concept with a movement song. We practiced manipulating a deck ring and finished class playing a game of Soccer Tag.
2nd thru 5th grade's ASAP for the day was called 4 Corners or Secret Handshake Tag. We then learned and discussed the different foot skills and finished class playing The Fox and The Hound.

6th thru 8th grade's ASAP was named Triangle Tag. We then discussed the two types of calories (empty and whole calories). We then played the activity called Energy In and Energy Out to reinforce the concepts.

WEEK #2

K4 thru 1st grade's ASAP (Activity as Soon as Possible) was called Body Parts. We then played a physically active pretend activity called Ladders. We finished class manipulating bean bags and playing a game called Hot Foot.

2nd grades ASAP for the day was called Scat Cat. We then practiced getting into groups with a game called Body Parts. To finish class, we played Mosquito Tag to go over an aspect of Sportsmanship.

3rd thru 5th grade's ASAP for the day was called Meet and Greet. We then participated in an activity called Connection Eyes where we discussed the word of the day. We went over the word "communication." We played the activity verbally and non-verbally while getting physically active.

6th thru 8th grade's ASAP was named Meet and Greet. We then learned what a calorie is and why it's important. We then played the activity called Catapult where we had to burn one pound of body fat. We discussed why it's so hard to lose a pound of body fat.

WEEK #1

Every class this week went over the class expectations. But, of course, we didn't sit the whole class period. We learned our expectatios while moving!!
K4 and K5 played Piece of Tape, Copy Cat, Apples/ Teeth, and Beat the Clock while learning the class expectations. We might need a few weeks to learn these!!
1st thru 5th grade participated in Human Rock-Paper-Scissors. We then finished class practicing the class expectations with an activity called Everybody's It Tag. We played several different ways so that we could incorporate the PBIS expectations for the year.

6th thru 8th grade's ASAP for the day was called Eye Contact. We then got our assigned seats and went over the grading procedures. Next, we exercised with a game called True or False Get Away. Throughout class we discussed the class expectations.
